Now, when Peter Adkison says that he puts on the best four days of gaming, he really means it! Gen Con Indy really is an amazing show, and their 40th anniversary did not let our expectations down. If you follow the link above, make sure to check out the video segment that Geek Squad put out for the show. Obviously, there are a lot of booth babes and people in costume as those tend to look much better on film than a bunch of gamers imagining an abstract role-playing world or analyzing board game positioning. But they do give you a sense of scale as to how many people actually attended the show this year. And when I hear 30-40 thousand people attended, it really did feel like that many were there. Gen Con! Gen Con!! Gen Con!!! The best four days of gaming are upon us and I really hope to see you guys there! I’ll be running the HSD Showcase Showdown to help showcase our new title and grab some new players. I’m also running the Schoolyard Smackdown for Button Men, which is a Button Men tournament open only to student fights (like High School Drama, Lunch Money and Sailor Moon). The winner takes home the World Championship Button Men belt (yes, there’s a real belt!) so that’s going to be a lot of fun.

Make sure to stop by the Pulp Gamer booth #2224 for more details about all the events I’m running, start your HSD Button Men hunt and maybe grab a copy of HSD. While you’re there, make sure to talk to Don, Derek and Jeremiah about all the great stuff they have there at their booth — including their new CDs and those fresh new shot glasses!

GenCon SoCal (Recap 1)

Monday, November 20th, 2006

First off, I have to say thank you to all the great people that came by our booth at GenCon SoCal this past weekend. It was nice seeing old friends and getting a chance to catch up on life between all the hectic moments. But the best part was certainly making all the new friends and introducing High School Drama! to all the new players out there. There was such a warm response to the game, especially from all the industry insiders. I’m glad I got to meet everyone and hopefully I’ll get to see you all again at the next big geek con out there. HSD! will make it’s grand debut at GenCon SoCal!

GenCon SoCal is the largest gaming convention in the southwest and we’ll be there this weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center. So, if you’re in the area or plan on being in the area, please make sure you drop by our booth in the dealer’s room and say hello. We’ll have lots of copies of the game for sale, so make sure you bring your wallet and so you can get your greedy little hobbit hands on fresh new copy of the game. (more…)
